(vornado.com)

When I lived in TX, I remember my neighbor had one, and it was an awesome little fan.

Bout 4 years ago, I bought a floor fan (3 spd) for my room. The thing is AMAZING. Istill use it every night, angled up at my bed to keep me cool, as my room is hot as hell because I'm upstairs, and the thermostat is downstairs.

Our electric bill was $199 last month, so I decided it's time to invest in a new fan to point more directly at me, rather than keep paying so much to keep the AC comfortable upstairs.

I ordered the one on the top right of this page. It's a bit steep for a "damn fan," I know. It's freaking AMAZING, I actually can't wait to go to sleep tonight. I would have propped up the old one on a chair or something, but my bed is too damn high ...

Anyone here have a Vornado? Do you like 'em as much as I do!?

edit: fixed busted link

my manager told me about the fan and how much he loved it ... I'm thinking of getting one myself, looking at the classifieds right now ... =)

They're virtually silent until 3/4 of the dial or high (for 3 speeds).

But they can practically take down a plant from across an entire room. It's the sound of the air, not the motor moving!

I've have a couple of these. I swear by them. In fact I have an original vornado fan from the 30's (could have been as late as the early 50's....used to reside at grandparent's house) that still runs as good as the new ones that came out around 10 years ago.
