OK, i fried my CPU and MB and i'm thinking of switching to a P4 system... what i ahave been told is that the intel boards run the agp slot a different voltage will not work with my V5 5500 AGP .... (vidcard upgrade is not an option at this time) so i am wondering if this is true bout intel MB's and Voodoo 5's if anyone knows plz let me know... b.c. i might just go back to what i had which was an Epox 8kha+ with an AMD XP 1900 + thanks!!!

A Voodoo5 AGP card does not have the 1.5 volt notch.

All i845 and i850 chipset based motherboards require fully compliant AGP4X 1.5volt cards. Your Voodoo 5 cannot be inserted into one of these motherboards.

You can get around this limitation by purchasing an SiS645DX based board, which does not require 1.5volt cards.

Please read the FAQ: AGP cards on i845 and i850 motherboards.

Alright! Another guy keeping his 3dfx Voodoo5-5500 'cause he knows it kicks ass still! It plays Quake, QuakeII, Unreal, UT, Undying, and Gunman Chronicles brighter and better than any other overpriced piece of crap out there!! 3dfx is dead! Long live 3dfx!
