"I for one would never pay over .... well about $150.00"

Me too! I'm just too poor to compete with you guys!

but I can still speculate no? that card's going to be a monster in performance.. I can't wait to see some real benches! do I remember 3dfx saying 60FPS 1024X768X32 with 4X FSAA? I wonder how close this card will get to that! if the V5 5500 is any indication (640X480X32 /w 4X FSAA) then maybe not (I don't have benches, and am too lazy to look in anandtech for them), but STILL, 800X600X32 with 4X will be silky smooth!

then for those who don't like FSAA, you have 1600X1200 to play with (not everyone's monitor supports it of course, but if you get that card, you might as well get a monitor that makes it sweat a bit no?

of course, all the T&L games will start pouring out (well, maybe not Pouring, but they're coming!), which will rain on 3dfx's parade a bit..

"110w you have got to be kidding! I guess I'd have to get a second UPC just to power my Quake addiction."

actually they must have increased the power for some other reason, becuase the V5 6000 sucks about 55watts MAX, that is, when it's doing lots of 3D. I'm thinking it's at 110 for startup (accelerating the fans needs juice). either that, or they needed more juice for some other reason, becuase each chip doesn't draw that much power..
