Voodoo 3 temp

my voodoo 3 2000@170 is running at 39.5C idle. I don't think this is a bad temp at all. I put a ss7 heatsink and ramsinks on this with a 80mm 42cfm fan blowing in from a blowhole and a slot cooler under it. The probe is on the back of the card. What are you peoples v3 temps? tks

What did you do put an external temp probe on your v3??

When I had a V3 the heat sink was to hot to touch but after I add a ss7 fan on it there was no problem.

if the temp is being taken from the back then i wouldn't believe it. it's taking it from a layer of PCB, so it is generally cooler than what it would be if you had the actual chip temperature. if you want to find out the differences in temperatures then you can use that method to some degree. i have a S7 fan on mine with a 34cfm fan blowing onto it and it's clocked at 175mhz. heatsink and back are cool
