Staples has this item for $102.49
Mwave has it for $85.
You can pricemach for $85, then use one staples coupons for $25 off $50 to get it down to $60.
(You can find the coupon codes on other hotdeal sites)

Get the $30 rebate from 3Dfx for a final price of $30.

If you can get staples to match the price on an OEM, card, it can be had for less.

I bought the PCI version & got staples to pricematch the AGP, OEM version from www.west-tech.com ($60)

My final cost = $12.40 including 6% tax.

This will also work with the Voodoo 3 3000, but it will likely be about $15 more.

Thanks for the tip, I'm also trying the same thing at value america, they have a special additional $20 rebate on the card, and are selling it for an ititial price of 89.99 at http://www.valueamerica.com/product.asp?p=2077.2013.0.118585.150432.1.0.0.0&l=1.1&r=0.1.2.4.0 If you get at price match at value america (for http://www.west-tech.com/P_311.htm) the final price will be $10 (and free shipping when going through http://www.citiplaza.com as a portal to va ) Also if you have any value dollars it will work out even better. 😉

Hopefully the companies wont fuss about the AGP and OEM (fingers crossed)

I have not heard back from value america yet, I will update this post when I do

I called up staples.. looks like a lot of people have been calling. Unless you get an uninformed sales rep, staples will tell you that they price match everything with overnight shipping. The card + overnight shipping from west tech will cost more then the card with free shipping at staples, so no price match.

I'll try calling value america during the week, though it seems unlikely to me.

is it possible to pricematch at staples after you buy it using website and have the dif credit back?
thks

Yes you can. But it is much easier to call--then you know for sure if you got it. And if they give you hard time, you can call back & talk to another CSR. My CRS first tried to tell me they wouldn't match it because it was a "Special." (It is company policy to "talk you out of it" when it comes to pricematching, but it is also company policy to give the customer the price if he/she persists.) I persisted; she verified the price; then she gave me the pricematch. No problem.

Staples # = 1-800-333-3330

B Jawa--

Did you just tell the CSR to look up the price at west-tech.com? They didn't notice/care it was AGP & OEM? I'd love to get a V3 2K at this price, but I want to make sure I don't call for nothing.

Staples doesn't specialize in computer hardware, so you have to assume that most CSR's won't know difference between AGP/PCI or know what "OEM" means.

Besides, you can still pricematch a legitmate Retail version & get an AGP for $30. Pretty tough to beat that price for a card that can still hold it's own in most games.

*Sigh* Been done before.

Staples might not accept M-wave because it's not an office store, try Onvia which has it for around $85.

Staples WILL accept the price match for online retailers. It does NOT have to be an office store. I have a copy of Staples Price Matching Policy & have gone through the corporate office before. It is their policy to try & talk customers out of pricematching, but they must always give it to you if you persist.

I tried to pricematch this morning and the answer was the voodoo3 with the 1 day shipping would cost more than the price staples order. So I called today and talked to a sales represenative who was courtesy to pricematch it along with accepting my 25 dollar coupon and free inkjet paper.. hehe...some guyz are cool with it while some others are jerks about it

I got a pricematch with gogocity on the V3 3000 AGP that will run me $71 delivered (with tax) after the $25 off coupon. After the $30 rebate $41 for a $100 plus card is a hot deal.

Thanks.

what the hell are you talking about?!?!?! You said that pricematching to $60-30 3dfx rebate-$25 staples=$5 + tax?!?!?! HOw do you pay $12?

Also, staples is nice, if they don't know the difference between oem (which is common knowledge for any store) I could understand that pci/agp they might not know. Is there some kind off %155 pricematch there also?!?! They are nice, if they compare prices to online stores that easily.

Maybe I will get another one. Though only one could be in my computer at a time.

The coupon that I used was only $20 off (The site I got it from said it was $25, but I wasn't going to complain when she let me use it). There ARE coupons that are for $25 off.

DAMN! Oh well, I didn't get away with my $5 voodoo because the representative that I talked to was *smart* and he surely knew the difference between agp and pci, oem and retail. When he called, he asked "do you guys sell v3 2k, pci, retail?" They said we only have agp, or something like that.

Lucky guy you 🙂

Bleeding you should be ashamed of yourself with your deception
OEM vs Retail Box

I think i will fwd this thread to Staples!

I got me a Voodoo3 3000 AGP for a final cost after pricematches, coupons and rebates for a final cost of $25.28. Gotta love it

nice, how did you get your v3 agp for 25? THat's still pretty hot!!! I don't see how they could sell a card that is still in most high ended systems for prices like $12-$40?!?!?! I guess you could say that $100-pricematch=$70-$25 coupon=$45-$30 3dfx=$15!!! Makes sense 🙁🙁

tom cat, please tell me if the va thing works!!!!! What do you mean that va pricematches only overnight shipping?

That would be sweet, v3 2k for $60-$20-$30, but of course, agp/oem stands out... Tell me what's up, and who do I call about that?

Also, what do you mean that "there have been a lot of calls?" Is it about the v3 2K?

Get back to us man!!!

If staples tells you they must add overnight shipping charges, THEY ARE LYING (which is not uncommon for staples). Their policy simply states that if you match an online price (as opposed to B&M), you have to include the shipping charges (ie standard shipping). If the site does not specifically state what the shipping charges will be, then it is company policy to add a flat shipping rate of $5.

BTW...I have had several people requesting that I post the official pricematching guide. I am planning to...I's just been kind of a low priority lately. I will get a copy of it up soon. It helps A LOT when trying to pricematch at staples since there policy is basically this (my paraphrase):
"Do anything you can to talk customers out of pricematching. If they persist, almost ANYTHING GOES!!!" Seriously. 🙂

I haven't really abused it, but if I wanted to, I could probably go into a B&M & walk out with a bunch of free stuff w/ no rebates to send in. 🙂
Their policy is very open.

Staples tried to tell me they were adding the overnight shipping charge into the pricematch because they offer that service, but when I pointed out that their page for the Voodoo3 3000 said right on it, 3-5 days shipping, they backed down and only added the standard UPS ground into the pricematch.
Pricematch, 80.28 - $25 staples coupon - $30 3dfx rebate = $25.28
