I have an old Voodoo2 12M PCI video card with the follwoing marked on it:

2455P
ver: 2.0
APGG2455P 99032 0007494

It came from my old computer which was a cyrix PR233. I had it installed in this computer so I could play some decent games (at the time). The problem is that it won't work unless it is connected to another video card. it has a 15-pin in and 15 pin out and was connected to the first video card externally. Can someone explain to me what it is? Is it only good on boards that have a form of integrated video?

I tried to connect it to a hercules 8M video card, installed the drivers and it didn't seem to make a difference, It wouldn't even make it through a full loop of 3dmark2000.

Thanks

It's a 3d only card ...you need to run the passthru cable through your main video card (or integrated motherboard video). It will not function alone or if it's not connected by the passthru cable to the primary video source.
You need to connect your monitor cable to the Voodoo card and run the passthru cable from the Hercules card to the Voodoo. If you need any drivers go here ---> voodoo drivers

Back in the DAY, you purchased a Voodoo or Voodoo2 card for 3D and had a completely seperate 2D card. So, you will need to run TWO video cards. The cable is to connect the voodoo2 to you other video card. The bad news is: the voodoo is not a very good gaming solution any more.

I tell you what, I miss those days! 3dfx was the ONLY choice and at the time kicked all other video cards "butts".

I don't think 3DMark2k is compatible witht he voodoo2. It requires more texture memory than the V2 can supply. The V2 12mb has only 4mb of effective texture buffer.
