Vonage Question: Forwarding to Cell Phone

I have my vonage line set up so that all calls to my Vonage line, automatically and simultaneously ring through to my cell phone at the same time. Caller-ID from the incoming caller shows up on the cell as well, its great.

Problem is, when i try to call my vonage line FROM my cell phone, it rings back through to my cell phone, which my cell in turn sees that the Caller ID is my cell phone number, so it shuffles me immediately into my cell phone voicemail. It never even rings at home.

Any ideas on how i can get around this? (short of turning off the simultaneous ring)

Can you try calling your house using the *67 prefix first to block caller id?

Does *67 prefix work on a cell?

then turn off the forwarding if someone is home. nobody home, forward calls. somebody home, don't forward calls

with sunrocket you can set it up to ring X times before forwarding, does vonage allow you to do that?

It should... a cell phone is just a wireless extension of a landline circuit.

Heh. that's what I thought too.

Sunrocket gives you an exxtra line at no charge still right? Culd switch to them and use the second line for calling home.

With SunRocket you get two numbers, but not two phone lines per se. Just to clarify. It allows you to select a local number and one from elsewhere if you want one, say, to allow your remote family or friends to call you as though you were local.
