What is it with automakers recent facination with hatchbacks? 😕 They have, and still do, look like crap.

Buil a car.
Build a station wagon.

B/C they're more practical than sedans, that's why.

They're popular as hell in Europe [hatchbacks]
 
I've been praying for Volvo to bring their new D5 over to CONUS but I doubt it will happen. 🙁

In any case, that C30 is pretty cool! Even if the back end does look like an elephant sat on it. :shocked:

Since when have the Japanese copied the Swedish? In fact, I'd say that Volvo copied Honda with the "shoulder" look of the S80 😛

get rid of the two tone paint and it'll be decent.

Actually, just about every Volvo from the 80s the 90's was a box. The first "modernly styled" Volvo were the S80/C70.

i'm seeing a shoulder in 1980 volvo 240s. it is more pronounced in the S80, but it's been there.

the big difference, and you'd know this if you'd watched the first season of top gear, is that the honda starts gently coming in from where the door handles are, whereas the volvo the shoulder is more dramatic. it's a very tight circle and starts very close to the windows.
