volume problems in win2k

i just installed win2k...very good os

only problem is i have soundblaster live value and the volume control isn't the greatest. the volume gets really really loud when i turn it up just a tad bit

the mixer in the liveware shows that the volume is currently at 3% yet it is really loud

anyone have the same problem? need help the driver i installed is the one for win2k. never had this prob in win me

What level are you looking at in the mixer??? Master Volume??? Wave Balance??? CD Balance???

try turning off liveware and using win2k's master volume .. tell us what happens then ..

yes i am looking at the master volume in the liveware mixer

i can't turn off liveware..

Can you turn the other balance controls down anymore???

nope i tried it but it doesn't affect a darn thing

Hey, to help fix it. Install the Win 2k SB Live drivers w/o Liveware 3.0. it worked for me, and it solved some of the sound quality issues too.
