Volume Control Program

i recently noticed that the volume control program as it is called on windows xp has somehow been removed from my computer...and i have no way of changing the different sound thinggys that are on that control program...so yea..i wanted to know how do i get the program back...hope i gave enough details and u all know what im talking about...appreciate any help..thanks..

Start, Control Panel, Sounds and Audio Devices. It is under there. That is the default one.

i did that....but when i checked the box to make it appear on the taskbar, it said something like install the volume contolr program or something..weird ...

roll back the driver or choose to let your system find and up date the driver.
I have done this a few times and this is what works for me.

Your problem probably has to do with this:

'Volume Icon Is Not Displayed in the Notification Area, and You Receive an Error Message When You Try to Add It' from microsoft support web.

thanks LatinTaz...that's exactly what the problem was...im gonna try it once i get my XP cd back from my friend....hope it works...appreciate ur help...
