Volume control insanity?!

You can control volume on sound card, in options, in multimedia players, and on speakers. What type of settings do you use to get the best sound? Personally I max out the volume in software and the use the speakers as final control, the sound feels richer at all volumes. What settings do you use?

I usually set everything that is software to 75-80%, then use the speaker nobs as the main control. You don't want to max out your gain, you'll get bad sound.

That's what I do too.

I have better luck and sound quality using this method.

Actually what I did was use the software controls to output the same volume from my speakers whether the source is the stereo or my computer. So now if the volume on the speakers is at 25%, it sounds the same whether the source is the computer or stereo.
