Hey.
If I am not mistaken, the default voltage for a 130nm ClawHammer is 1.5v.
Well, right now mine is over-clocked at 2.4 Ghz, only a 200 Mhz bump. Currently, voltage is 1.525, and is Prime stable (ran torture test for 18 hours without problems).
I was wondering though ... since I paid that A64 CH 3500+ very cheap as an X2 4400+ replacement (my 4400+ was recently doomed by bent pins and decreased performance, I'm waiting for my new one to arrive at my local store), I could perhaps bump it to 2.6 Ghz.
Should I increase the voltage if I do so ?
Oh, and the FSB is 240 Mhz, with a 10x multiplier.
I guess I could try 248 x 10.5, to reach 2604 Mhz. But at which "safe" voltage ? I'm asking because I don't feel like waiting 18 hours and more, for another stability test. 1.550, 1.575 ? Only a few suggestions would give me ideas as to where I should try to set it at. And I've read the A8N-SLi Premium have problems with FSB's at 250 Mhz+, but I'm not sure about that.
Thanks.
