Voltage Question

I've been overclocking processors for about a year now. I still consider myself a newbie at it.

However, I have a Thunderbird 1000 (10 x 100) running rock-stable at 1333 (10 x 133), at default voltage.

my 2 questions are:

1) How lucky am I to be running a 333mhz overclock at default voltage?

2) I've never ran higher than default voltage before, and I'm worried about frying my chip... what's the easiest way?

I'm running an Abit KT7A-Raid mobo.

Oh, forgot to mention... I'm running the stock heatsink and fan.

don't worry about frying your chip
just use sufficient cooling and monitor your cpu temp closely
don't let cpu get above 50c or else it's time to lower voltage

I ran my TBird 1Ghz at 1350 at 1.67 volts....

Yeah, I'll install whatever temp. monitor came with my motherboard... that is my only complaint with abit so far... they dont see to put together as nice of a software package as Asus does (i really liked being able to flash my ROM in windows with Asus).

you are very lucky to hit that speed in my opinion with default voltage...turn it up by the lowest amount you can, probably .1 volt, just to make sure it stays stable at that speed...

You might also want to consider getting a better HSF. Higher voltage = more heat so it's good to take that heat away as fast as possible.

Yeah, actually there is this Taisol unit I'm gonna pick up in the next few months (my car is my main priority, i'd rather turbo charge my car than overclock my computer )... and my Kyro II should show up anytime now.

oh, its rock stable at 1333. Never a problem. been running it for over a month now at 1333.
