i use the missioncontrol monitoring program on my p4 via board, and recently the voltages started to waver quite a bit, (they used to be displayed as a straight line of steady voltage, when i bought the thing 2 months ago). now they move up and down quite a bit, and temps go as high as 55 c when i go on the net or run a game. is it time to send the power supply in for warranty or is this normal?
thanks!

They probably won't do warranty unless you can show that the "ripple" is out of spec. So go to the PSU mfr's site and find out whether what you are seeing is outside their ripple spec. If it is (or you can demonstrate some system flakiness due to it), then gather your evidence and go for it.

aaarrrrgh! help!
so i took my power supply back to the place i bought my system from, and upgraded to a better one for a little more $ minus warranty. now, the voltage monitor is still beeping warnings at me. previously it was the -12v that dropped out of current causing an alarm, now with the new psu it is the v3.3.
however, the temperature has dropped greatly.
is any of this serious or am i just paranoid?
is my new via p4pb400 motherboard junk?
i guess, since its not overheating now, if i weren,t running the voltage/temp monitor, i wouldnt even be aware of the alarms, does this sort of stuff just happen on new computers?

What kind of PSU is it? Have you added any new hardware recently? I had that problem after upgrading my video card. Also, check the actual volates with a volt meter if you have one. Sensors and software do not always give a true measurement.

i recently added everything, and have had problems ever since. when my old mobo fried out, i bought a new one +case cpu, memory and psu, from a local place, and then bought and added new graphics, sound (because the onboard failed constantly), modem, hd, and cd drives, and a fresh windows me.
problems ever since, who knows what is causing the problem.
i just installed and ran motherboard monitor to check my voltage along with my via missioncontrol program. they both give alarms at the same time that my vcc 5v is spiking either 1 volt up or down depending on the event.
