Is there a fan for the VOLCANO II heatsink that would be quieter and work just as good, if not better ? I want a quieter fan than the one that came with the volcano II that i have.

The Volcano 2's fan is really quiet already. My cousin have one and when I go over to his house all I notice is the PSU fan. If you want a quiet one go look for one with low RPMs. But really, the Volcano 2 is suck as it is. What would happen if you put a quieter fan on it?

I love my Volcano II. I can barely hear it and it keeps my 1 gig athlon at 32 celsius.

I purchased VolcanoII and found it much noisier than ChromeOrb. Vibration is appreciable. But measured CPU temperature is 5C less.

Maybe you need to look into 60MM to 80mm fan adapter. This unit will let you use a quieter 80mm fan without losing the volume of air needed to achived decent cooling and at the same time much quieter.

those adapters (that look like tubes) don't work. There's a review of it at hardOCP, but basically the fan can create enough pressure to push the air thru, and it becomes useless.

As I understand it, the volcano II uses thermaltakes TT6025A (~30cfm ~30dba). Seems relatively quiet, a bit less than the the fan that came on my SVC GoldenGate 30. Pushes roughly the same from what I can tell.
