Volcano II is it good enough...

I'm building my first computer and my cpu is an AMD 1.2 T-bird. I have a Volcano II heatsink is it good enough to handle overclocking?

basically no. If you were not going to overclcok then it would probably be just about OK. the thermalright sk6 is quite popular around here, that should be good.

Yep, It should cool that sucker down if you don't plan on overclocking

But if your going to overclock
The SK6 would be my choice

The Volcano II will cool it allright, but don't expect to run very cold or oc. I got my 1200 to 1400 with my Volcano II (stable) though, so yo can oc with it (but maybe I just got lucky, who knows), but if you want to oc I would recommend getting a better hsf.

Yea if you dont want to oc but if you do some of the other choices are globalwin fop321, gladiator, or a sk6

yeah, i got a volcano ii on a 1.4tb (system is being shipped) and im plannign to switch hsf... but would the sk6 have any problem fitting on my computer? The case is some weird case and it's on a ak31.

should be no probs with fitting. You dont need to tilt it for installation, so only horizontal height is an issue.
