anyone try this HSF im thinking of getting it but not shure on the noise it will produce

I dont want to get the Volcano 11 i had the 9 version and didnt really like it
i dont paticularly care for all those extra things they put on it (ie. fan speed adjustment, thermal sensing,

uh... i wasn't aware of any 10 version... i have th 9, and i know about the spffy 11, but never heard of a supposed 10... do you have a link?

btw... if you don;t like the adjustments, you do't have to use them. you can opt to have the fan run at full speed all the time on the volcano 9

If you didn't like the V9 why are you looking at V10? From looking at it, you can tell it's noisy because: 60mm fan (doesn't even look standard 60mm size), and 10mm thickness. Knowing Thermaltake, just add 10 to whatever dba they claim it to be, so in this case it would be 46.5. Why don't you get a Thermalright hs, probably better cooling and cost less.

And that's also why I don't trust Tt. They overrate performance (i.e. CFM) and underrate noise (i.e. dBA).

thanks for the input
ill look into the thermalright products
when i had the 9 version the noise was unbearable

Get either a Volcano 9 or 11, remove the jumper and attach the rheostat so the fan speed could be manually adjusted. You can make it go from screaming to silent if you want, mine's somewhere in mid-high (4000s RPM range)

i ended up getting the Volcano 10+ i found localy for $18 same specs as 11 i plugged it in and was alot queieter than the 9 i had

yeah im not an overclocker myself so it didnt really matter to me plus those volcano 9 and 11 series HSF are freaking huge
