I was thinking about some of the new internet based phone services to suplement my cell phone when its having a bad day anyone have any recomendations? I'll mainly be using it to call home a couple time a week.

I have a small business line through vonage and it has been good so far. Plus its portable and I get a free fax line and can check voicemail online.

1) Quality is not as good as a analog [yet]
2) You are SOLO when the power goes out.
3) Reliability is still touchy....for consumers anyways. Commerical is awesome.
4) Cheap.

Good Luck! We use them at work, and they rock.

So are 90%+ of the people who use analog phones. I don't know a single person who doesn't use a cordless phone which also goes out when the power does.
