Voice recognition software.

I have used Dragon's software 2 years back but had to spend alot of time correcting the resulting document.

This even after "training" sessions to minimize errors.

Has voice recognition software evolved to a point where it is acceptable?

If so, which software?

Thnx

It's good enough for issuing commands but not good enough for transcription.

Plus, they've never solved the "To", "Too" and "Two" problem.

Which voice recognition software are you referring to?

the [recent] consensus was that is was greatly improved but still IMperfect. 😉

Do the recognition S/W have available APIs so it can be embedded into your own developed applications?

Yep. Both the Microsoft Speech SDK and Dragon offer an API. We were using an older version of Dragon and it was a bit quirky (we ended up using the MS system). I think the newer versions are acceptable.
