VNC (or like) software that can stream video being shown on host PC

Friend of mine owns a gas station and we're researching options for a VNC (or VNC like program) that will let him log into his Security Cam PC's and stream the live security cams right to his house.

We tried out LogMeIn, but the video never makes it through (it just shows the boxes as blank).

It doesn't have to be terribly fast at updating (were not expecting 20fps or anything close here), but something workable.

Any ideas?

VLC player can serve up video over http. if the camera's drivers are directshow compatible, it should work just fine. not sure how he would go about securing the URL though.

I would recommend a security camera program with a built in ability to stream.

You could also use UltraVNC.

When they purchased the system, they didn't realize they wanted remote streaming. To change out the software would be prohibitively expensive, so we're researching alternatives right now.

We'll give UltraVNC a try tomorrow, thanks for the rec.

I think orb can stream webcams.

Its not really a webcam per say though, its a video being shown directly on the PC, and we want to mirror that display through the internet and watch the video through the net at the same time. The current software can show up to 16 cams on screen at one time, we want to do something almost like a full 'Remote Desktop', yet with the ability to stream video and have it shown on the host PC at the same time.
