vnc or gotomypc.com >>> use both need help

i tried to use vnc tonight and don't understand how it works.

i set up my office comp as the server and need to find out my ip address on my work computer (win xp) to connect to it from my house. at my work i have dsl with dynamic ip addresses so they always change. i was thinking to use gotomypc.com but it is not free.

any suggestions.
 
not sure what you are trying to do, but if your office machine is behind a router (internal IP) you won't be able to use vnc with it (Unless there is some type of port forwarding fix?) in any case you need to have administrator rights to do that.
