vmware: want to use wifi adapter w/guest; use nic w/host

I have a newly added wifi card (to the host machine) that I want to use in my guest virtual-machine.
I want my host machine to continue to use an internal NIC.

Desired result:
host machine connected to network#1
virtual-machine connected to network#2

I can't find the wifi hardware on the virtual-machine (running xp-pro) -- so I'm guessing that i need to add another nic device at the vmware level, and then do some sort of bridging between the vmware-network-adapter and the wifi card.

Can anyone help?
I'm running vmware workstation 4.5.2

thanks-
