The VMware DHCP Service service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs.

Hrm. Not sure what that's about TBH. When you stated earlier that you manually configured your IP address to 192.168.1.98, were you referring to your IP within Windows 7 or one of the VMNet adapters on your host PC?

In any case, you might try uninstalling VMWare and running the manual cleanup steps listed here. Reboot and try a completely clean installation of 6.5.1.

No, I never configured it manually. I did some other things but did not know where to begin to do that.
