I want to run linux, but there's no linux driver for my NIC or sound card. wine is not designed to interface hardware, so they dont plan on adding the ability to use windows drivers. However, could I run a vm under linux that uses windows drivers and lets my play sounds and access the net (with a winamp and IE5 under the vm)?

damn... if the host system can't use some hardware neither can the guest. that sucks... I was hoping to be able to move to 90% linux, 10% windows (wine/vmware combo). :| Any ideas of how to use my sound card (avance als4000-based) or my NIC (intel 10mpbs anypoint - tulip.o doesn't work on the 10mbit version)?
