VMware 5.0 Workstation (Problem)

I'm trying to run Turbine's Asheron's Call game on a VMware Workstation 5.0. I installed and Windows XP and setup the VMTools. I installed and tested Direct X 9.0c and had no problems. The game will allow me to log in using the GUI server selector, but when it goes to switch to the actual game graphics nothing happens.

Ideas?
 
I doubt the system can handle software rendering, so the game is just crashing. Vmware and virtual PC can not use your real video card. They emulate a video card on the cpu.
