A guy who worked on VMS worked on NT, so there's a lot of vms-isms in it, but it's most definately not VMS. Have you ever used actually VMS?

I have. It's command line syntax is painful. The paranoid permissions requirements don't help either.

<-school's email/student web server runs openvms.

Matt Dillon did some coding for the Linux kernel in the olden days, so by your logic: FreeBSD == Linux
