My question is in bold if you want to skip the preface.
I have a cheap motherboard (ASRock 939-DualSATA2 I think is the name of it) and am interested in doing a volt mod to get an extra .05 volts or so.
<a href="http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=89261> Here is my CPU-z </a>
My comp is oblivion stable but NOT prime stable.
I'd like to get a little bit of extra voltage so as to make my compy stable at these levels.
I have a CNPS 9500 cooling my processor which (with CNQ enabled) gives me idle temps of 36C and load temps of around 45C depending on ambient. MBM shows high temps of 43C for CPU and 33C for case.
Thing that sucks is that my cpu is overpowered for my system right now but my ram can't keep up with it. Only ram dividers I have with these speeds is 200 and 166. 200 is too high, 166 is slightly too low.
Ok, my question is though...if I end up needing to reset my BIOS as I screwed up an OC or something, the VMod sets the processor voltage to be .4V above the current setting. The VMod will give me my desired voltage of 1.5V with a BIOS setting of 1.1V. If the comp resets itself and defaults the voltage to 1.4V in the BIOS, will it go ahead and fry my mosfets and CPU by trying to push 1.8V?
Thanks!
