Vizio

Vizio's really aren't lowend. They are typical consumer grade in the same field as all the Sony, Sanyo, Pioneers, etc in their price range.

They are overkill for most folks, but will never compare fully to sets at the $4000+ price point.

It's so funny when prior to Flat Screens most just bought the biggest TV they could afford/fit/etc and were done with it. Today's buyers shop specs they don't even fully understand.

Because people on this forum think that any TV costing less than $1000 is horrible, low-end garbage that only poor people buy.

Who the hell said that? I own a Vizio for my bedroom TV and it is just fine for that need. Now would I put it into my HT room where I spent thousands of dollars for my AVR, speakers, Sub, etc...? Hell no. That is why I have a Panasonic Plasma in there.

Take the chip off your shoulder and dust it off. There is nothing wrong with Vizio. It is mid-tier. Nothing wrong with it and nothing flasy either. If I was on a budget I would have no problem getting one.

Sheesh...

i own 3 Vizio 3D tvs and never had one problem with them in the past 2 years i think they make great affordable tvs compared to any others at the same price point ?

i have no problem with Vizios. It's other ppl on this forum hating on Vizio.

In the end you have to decide for yourself what TV looks good to you. Check the specs, see it in person if possible and glance at the professional and consumer reviews.

All brands have the flagship models and the meh models. Get what's the best bang for the buck at the time and enjoy it. If it looks good to you that's all that maters. There is always a risk you can get a lemon too. So check with the store and company on what can be done if your TV does die.

You will always get people who hate one brand and like like another. Just go with what satisfies you with what you have to pay for it or can save for.

Arguing over which is better is pointless as one brand may have the best model at the time then another releases an even better one.

I second this. Vizio is a fine brand with plenty of quality sets, as long as you take the time to find the model which satisfies your interests. Take a look at reviews and try to find an above-average deal for the TV that you want; it doesn't need to be 'top-tier' to have reasonable quality.

Here is a very impressive Vizio tv:

I think it's just that Vizio seems relatively new compared to the more established brands. I certainly don't remember ever hearing about them before the HDTV era. By all accounts there nothing wrong with Vizio tvs that isn't also wrong with other tvs in their price range.

My dad paid $1000 for a 32" Vizio. Its the best TV ever!!! 😛 😛

As someone who spent a lot of time researching TVs before buying a new one 4 months ago, it's not that Vizio TVs are bad, but I prefer buying a TV from the company that made the panel, because having another man in the middle means either the panel Vizio is cutting corners or I am paying more.

lulz. There is only a handful of panel makers. The quality of the tv depends on implementation.

The biggest issue with vizio is that they are not a manufacturer with an long established company and that causes a lot of issues. If you buy a panasonic, they have been around long enough that they have service centers, people who know how to do repairs , etc. Another thing that longer existing companies bring is knowing what customers want and being able to deliver that well. Vizio isn't bottom of the barrel but right now I would go with a major manufacturer if I could afford the price.

Ha, Panny is not much help either.

I think other manufacturers are trying to compete as many customers are finding Vizios to offer good enough at the right price. As Vizio has sort have nailed that best bang for the buck category and in a troubled economy is thriving too while others are trying to match what they are doing.

If people dig Vizio then well good for them. I think when it comes to purchasing a TV aim for the current models from whatever brand that have the right amount of positive reviews and features. Stores always do sales. Find what you're happy with and enjoy. Just remember you'll be starring at that set. 😉

my bad i didn't ask this to get a new tv as i already have 3 Vizio 3D TVs but just to see why ppl say vizio is like a chine brand tv ?

You happy with them?

Then enjoy them. Who cares what others think? If people are coming to your House and constantly bitching about your Vizio 3D TVs then tell them to GTFO. 😛

You choose them because they offered all of what you wanted out of a Television. Life is too short to bicker about this crap. Get what looks good to you. I doubt your guests care either. 😉

I've heard people bitch about all the brands. Again all the brands have the flagship models and then the okay ones. Just get what fits and enjoy.
