This deal is good through July 31 and has free shipping as of right now. Use the coupon code "65G7RQ11J?M2LH" to get the 15% off. I actually got taxed on mine so it ended up being about $800 which is still a sick a deal for this tv.

Looks great to me the contrast ratio is important but each company uses a different standard to measure so a Samsung might be 1,000,000,000,000,000,000:1 but it will still look the same as a Vizio.

damn, should have waited!

got one through dell a little while back for $850 and 7% off.

awesome TV though. I really like mine, even though it's "too small for my viewing distance". great picture and sound.

Bought one at costco a while ago for $999, and liking it so far....
Use it primarily for my Monitor, but I can watch TV whenever I want without TV card :)

Vizio has come a long way in the 2 years since that article was published.

Was talking with a kid who works the TV section at our local Costco - he knew his sh!t and said people bring Vizios back more than all other brands combined. That said, I have had a 37" Vizio that I bought used 2 years ago and it is solid as a rock.

People also might buy Vizios in larger quantity than all other brands combined. :p

The regular 42" 120hz model has gotten bad reviews so I would make sure it's the XVT SV420 like the dell version if you want good results. Yeah looks like the deal is dead they sold out fast but I wouldn't be surprised if it goes on sale again somewhere else. Mine is still working great and I just got a mount to put it up on the wall in my new place. No ghosting and looks insane with full HD. My only complaint is my jobless roommate never leaving the couch.
