My 37" Vizio LCD HDTV has a slight yellowish cast to the picture. I've used a cheap colormeter to calibrate my disc players and it sets the Hue to -2 (so apparently there is a problem it can see with its sensor and it tries to correct it). The DVDs (in particularly) still have a faint amber cast to the picture (its affected three different players, so I don't think they're at fault). Almost all blue-eyed people in the films seem to have greenish/blue eyes as a result. Reds and oranges are REALLY strong at times. Broadcast TV doesn't seem affected as much, its primarily a DVD problem. I've changed HDMI cables, but that had no effect.

If I got the code to the service menu, is there anything in there that I could adjust to correct the problem? Do I just need to break down and spend the bucks on a professional calibration?

How old is it?

Does your TV have cool/warm settings? You might want to change it to cool to see if that helps.

Best way is to find people that OWN a 37" vizio maybe they could give you the settings when you make it into the service menu. Be very careful when in that since if you mess something up you can make things worse in a hurry. If your going to do it, best to map out (write down) all the default settings before changing anything.

Good Luck -- Hopefully it's not a resistor a cap going bad. If that's the case better try and sell it for what you can and buy something new.

Its a 2008 model (just bought it this past September). I have the color set on "normal". There's also warm and cool. Been thinking about setting it on cool and calibrating it again with the Spyder 3 TV to see if I get a better result. I'll need to Google "resistor cap" - have no idea what that is.
