It stands for "Video In - Video Out"

Basically, you can input video to your computer and you can output video from your computer to the TV or another source.

Hmm I think I was thinking of DVI then, any idea what that one does? Its the other port on the back of a leadtek geforce 4400 besides the svideo and the standard monitor plug.

I think DVI stands for Digital Video Interface, and that port would be used to connect a LCD monitor to your card. You can also buy an adapter to convert that to a normal port to work with another CRT monitor you might have.

OK. What can I do with this Video in, since many on the hot deals forum make big deals of cards having to be VI as well as VO (like the MSI 4400). Can I split my cable and plug it into my computer, then watch computer on my TV? Record it onto a file? How good is the resolution? Thanks for this info. It may be worth the extra investment if it allows me to record some of my favorite television programs/specials to save them on my HD/VCDs. Thanks for the info...

These cards don't have tuners so you'll need a cable box with composite or s-video outputs.

I think I made my decision now... MSI is too loud to deserve the VIVO. I think I'm going ABIT...
