VIVO?

I have noticed that some of the specs on the high-end video cards claim that they are VIVO-enabled.

I am interested b/c I recently purchased a ATI-branded 800xl radeon for pci-express which from ehat I understand is a good GPU, but it does not have 'VIVO'. I am eventually planning on getting a TV tuner with PVR capabilities.

So my question is, what is VIVO?
Do I need it to enjoy recorded or realtime playback from a TV tuner/PVR device? My best guess would be that these cards can double as video capture cards...

Thanks for being patient with the formulation of my very first post.

VIVO = Video In, Video Out

From what I gather, the ideal VIVO solutions are currently built using separate PCI tuner cards rather than VIVO-enabled video cards.

Yep. Help yourself to a decent PCI TV tuner card, and there you go. VIVO feature on the graphics card lets you have a video input (SVideo or Composite), but offers no tuner.

edit: Oh, and welcome. *walks off mumbling about manners*
