He said that it was a high risk, low reward fight but who else is he gonna fight? Hendo can't fight. Machida is the only guy that can fight him right now. Shogun would have probably taken it but Machida looked 'better' and took less damage from UFC on Fox.

This is why I enjoy totally avoiding any and all mma news and talk and strictly watching the DVDs that the ufc puts out. It might be 3 months later but I can skip through the BS hype machine crap and go to the fights only. There is too much WWE feel to mma these days with Dana's drama queen attitude.

White wants to put his foot so far up Greg Jackson's @ss that it knocks out his teeth. He's absolutely disgusted and furious at him advising Jones to not take this. On the other hand, he'd have sex with Sonnen for being the type of fighter that would take on Jones with 8 days notice.

Jones should have taken the fight vs. Sonnen. Easier fight than Dan (no KO power), still makes all the money and the card stays.

So Jones has been preparing for Hendo, for what, 6 months and now he's being asked to change everything in 8 days, with his belt on the line? Jones was right to say "no".

Oh, and long time, no see Woosta.

This is actually better for fans. If Jones took the fight it'd be at least a few months before he could fight Hendo. I personally don't care to see non juiced Sonnen again. He looks like a totally different guy off the juice.

This will work out for the best. The sooner Lyoto loses to Bones, the sooner he can head to 185. By the time he is ready for a title shot Anderson will retire or go to 205lbs :D

I am always suspicious of injuries that do not require surgery though. Particularly when they are not readily visible.

Surely you can't be questioning Hendo?

I think in the future~ they should have something in the contract.

If your opponent goes down, who and who will be your opponent pending they're available and can take the fight.

So many people lose now because of this.

I think that's a BS fanboy perspective. Some of these guys may be @ssholes, but guys like hendo (not to mention most other ufc fighters) are not pussies.

The guy fought Fedor, Anderson Silva, Wanderlei in his prime, Rampage in his prime, etc.. To say Hendo would be ducking anyone is the most absolutely ridiculous thing to say.

Not how you think; and don't call me Shirley.

If he is overplaying the injury, it could be a potentially brilliant strategy. You know who is next in line. So you sit back and let him get his rematch. Perhaps Machida gets lucky and lands that big shot. Now, you get him instead of Bones, and you KNOW Lyoto can be dropped. Worth the gamble, and at 42, you got to be thinking this may be your last run at a UFC title. So how bad off are you for throwing the dice on getting a better match up? Yes, better match up, because anyone but Bones is a better match up.

Bisbing...lol, that's awesome.

I think what White meant calling Jackson a sport killer is that if everyone was like Jackson, encouraging Jones to turn the fight down on short notice, the sport never would have gotten to where it is. I think that's true.

But Jackson isn't really a sport killer tho...he's a helluva trainer, which has had a significant impact in helping to make the ufc what it is today.
