My friend at work is taking something by nu-tek called Nature's Fuel. Supposedly it's supposed to be pretty good, but he's paying like $30-something a month for them. Are they any good and worth his money?

I personally buy mine at BJs the Men's performance vitamins that gives me like 4 months for $20-$25. Are his that much superior to mine?

Thanks.

If you have a well-balanced diet high in veggies and fruits, a vitamin won't benefit you. Vitamins are supplements. You could save the $20 by eating right and you'd have the upper hand in wellness and dietary benefits over your friend there.

The only convincing argument for his vitamin vs yours is that the marketing for his is better, since he's paying more for it. I guarantee you there is no evidence whatsoever that a dollar a day (holy crap that's a lot for a vitamin) is going to advance him in any way shape or form.

Like SC I've stopped taking them. There is, despite many decades of vitamin supplementation, just very little evidence to suggest a healthy person with a normal diet can really benefit from them. That doesn't mean they are not a benefit; there may very well be a mild one (and if there is I'd happily pay $6-10/month), but my philosophy is that if in doubt and there's no real proof, don't spend money on it. In many cases vitamin supplementation can in fact be injurious (proven). I don't think the science on it is good enough to specifiy for the lay person what they should be taking in. Perhaps regular blood work would help us know our specific needs...
