Ok, it's good to have vitamin C regardless, but if you're workingout and trying to loose weight, i hear it's good to take in a lot of vitamin C, either by pills or high content vitamin C drinks. what's the story?

Vitamin C can be bad for you if you have too much. I think its just a rumor and people say that because they are below the amount they should have to begin with. Just make sure you have your dialy allowance.

It doesn't help that much in working out but I guess it has some affect it's mostly good for your immune system.

Try Vitamin B-6, magnesium, and zince at night before bed preferably on empty stomach.

How much is too much? Nobel prize winner Linus Pauling recommended 10 grams a day.

Anyway, it also depends on the form you take it in. Unbuffered Vitamin C in that (admitedly extreme) amount is VERY acidic and will cause stomach upset.

Ideally, you will get all your vitamin C from food. Unfortunately, processing or heat destroys most of the vitamin C.

Just a word of caution for any health conscious women trying to have a baby women.
With women, this ammount of VitC will cause a miscarriage in approx. 55% of pregnancies. VitC has been used by "Wise Women" to bring on 'late periods' for many years.

It basically does you no good to take 1000% of the suggested. What your body doesn't use, it just pisses away. If your are looking to lose weight, a balanced diet will help but all this carbolife and other herbal supplement are mainly just a waste of money. Eat less, that way you save either way.

i don't know how much of vitamin c is absorbed systemically and how much is excreted,
but you can take more than the recommended daily serving if you space out the additional
servings throughout the day. a recent study indicated a ceiling for a single maximum dosage,
beyond whose point vitamin c may prove toxic or harmful in some way. but if you take the
recommended daily dosage at intervals throughout the day the warning does not apply.
you can drink or eat 1000% of the daily recommended serving if you divide the total
into smaller supplements taken three or fours hours apart. the best form of any
vitamin is the intravenous variety.
