VisualStudio 2005/SQL Server 2005/BizTalk Server launch events

"Microsoft is holding launch events" for their new Visual Studio, SQL Server and BizTalk server products. As usual, they will be giving away free copies of their software (shouldn't be timebombed). From what I was able to gather on the site, it's going to be Visual Studio 2005 Standard Edition, but they've been known to hand out better.

The event is FREE to attend. I believe they will be feeding you there. So sign up, get a free copy of Visual Studio and SQL Server, and have fun!

Will be in philly on the 17th of this month btw. Been signed up for it for about a month now. Free day off work to go, gotta love it.

so many nerds in this country... i thought all programming jobs have been outsourced to Asia 😛?

Closest is Minneapolis, and I'm not running that traffic just for a handful of CDs.

Just downloaded, thank you.
The free downloads linked here recently are for the EXPRESS versions, it'll most likely be standard/professional given away at the conferences. There's a difference.

they are giving away the standard version at the event. Not much better than the express if you are a real developer

My department went to an ASP/VS 2005 presentation just a few weeks ago and they handed out registrations and fliers that advertised full Professional Edition copies of Visual Studio 2005 and SQL Server 2005 to those who signed up and went to the conventions. Mind you they also gave away several Professional Edition versions of other new software at the last presentation, and I was suddenly interested in trying to go to one of these. All I can say is that I am up for free licensed versions when it comes to a production environment, as well as for myself!

I'm in! <<hopes still up...
