My VS Express 2012 expired after 30d and I need to install another Express version. Looking at the 2013 for Windows desktop. But I think it will only allow the 30d trail and then won't work.

Does anyone know what "registration" entails? I can't find out from searching online. I think it means $$. (I'm a student but the crazy school doesn't give out .edu email addresses so no DreamSpark.) Express is supposed to be free to use but I don't think you even get a 90d trail. I think they're all 30d. As usual per MS I can't discover details even on their webpages.

Thanks,

Mac

Can you get an ISIC card at your university? That works for Dreamspark and gives you access to various years of Visual Studio Professional.

Thanks guys, not sure what happened with registration, probably forgot. My school probably doesn't have ISIC cards either, it's a votech h.s. and they're a little unorganized. Luckily my roommate is back and has a solution.

Thanks again,

Mac

registration means you sign up for a free Microsoft account... which you have to sign in to and re-activate visual studio every 30-60 days to keep using the express edition.
