Visual Basic 2005

So this is my first time posting on these forums. I was referred here by a friend so i hope i can get some kind of constructive advice.

I am taking an online basic computer class in which i need to use microsoft visual basic 2005. I am following along in my text book just fine and have no problem completing the projects thus far.

Where i come to a stop is when i save the project using "save all", select the location that i want to save it, then close it.

I am unable to reopen it. If i go to the recent projects or to the file folder and click on the file solution nothing really happens. After playing around with it for a while i was able to get my project to at least show up by clicking on the begin debugging button. I cannot, however, modify the project in any way.

I would have thought that opening something in visual basic would be just like opening something in word. find file > click > work.

If there is something that i am missing please please do post and let me know.

edit: as stupid as it sounds i have tried going through the text book to find out how to save and open a project still with no luck.
