No it won't. You need at least an 8800 with 768mb, you need at least 8GB ram, and you need a 1TB HDD too. Oh and that monitor is too small.

There is no doubt that the hardware is pretty decent----any flavor of Vista will work---but perhaps the question is badly put--there is a question of merely working and its another question regarding how well it will work.

And in regards to the latter question---its more a question of software---what software was working well in windows that won't now work at all or be to some degree crippled running vista?

Which is a somewhat a time dependant question and a moving target.---sadly microsoft got the details
of vista to various software companies very late---leaving them behind the eight ball and somewhat rushing to bring out new fixes and drivers for old software and some hardware. Which is why this little boy will wait at least six months before even considering upgrading? to vista.

One can somewhat hedge your bet by downloading the vista upgrade adviser----which is supposed to be a definitive answer to what hardware and software on a given computer is incomputable with vista.
In my case---the vista upgrade adviser flat out lied on my computer when it gave it a total green light.
When in fact, I am going to have to download at least 100MB of software fixes for my motherboard alone.

And I also note this thread is totally silent on the 32 v 64 bit questions---which can also have major implications.

I also note something else---it also becomes a question of why the sane should rush out and throw money at microsoft before asking what will vista do that an older OS will not do?---in short---why do I need vista?

I actually heard that there was a lack of driver support for nforce4 motherboards, you might want to look into your particular motherboards website to see if there are vista drivers yet, or you WON'T be using vista right away.

My secondary system is very similar, with half the ram and a much lower-end video card, and Vista runs perfectly on it.
