Vista x32 and BF2142 Problems With Dell Inspiron E1505 Laptop....

First of all, I want to say that I know my new shiny new Dell Inspiron E1505 isn't a gaming laptop...that said, I still should be able to play BF2142 on Vista x32 on medium settings with a res of at least 1024x768 or 1280x800, which is it's native res. I'm able to play BF2142 on my desktop that I built and it has Vista x64 on it and it plays beautifully! I had some problems getting it to work, but even with it, when it had an error, Vista would tell me what was going on. It won't even do that on the x32 Vista. I had to go into Event log in order to see anything and that was of little help as well. The only thing I got from it was I saw a file or two that was Direct X related, but I've got DX10 on it and for good measure I installed DX9 again too. Don't worry, it doesn't conflict with DX10. I actually had to install DX9 when I installed the Lost Planet demo. In fact it looks like it's doing the exact same thing....that is, I can't even get into the menu and with the Lost Planet demo, when I reinstalled DX9, it worked?!? So I did the same thing here and it didn't help. I've got enough free memory. Here are my specs:

C2D T7200 2GHz w/4MB L2, 2GB of 667MHz Dual Channel DDR2 RAM, SB Audigy HD, Radeon X1400 Mobility. OK, I know the Radeon X1400 Mobility is the weak point here, but it should still run. The X1400 is supposed to be slightly faster than a 9700 Pro and I have a 9800 Pro in one of my older computers and it runs BF2142 at 1280x1024 with Medium detail very nicely and that machine only has a gig of RAM too! I've tried running it in compatibility mode and it does the same thing Vista x64 did before I was able to make it work on it. It tells me that I don't have the disc in, and I of course I do. I've got the latest drivers for everything too. It just craps out on me before even any videos play, like the EA logo...etc.

I've posted on the Dell forums too of course with no luck so far. If anyone has any idea's I'm all ears! Thanks!
