Vista Users: Have a long wait for network connection to be established?

well what do you mean by "long"?

my connection typically takes 45 sec to be established in the little icon, although its up long before that usually.
 
3 to 4 minutes.. shouldn't it just pop on like xp? it's not connected either, 'm not just waiting for the icon. no biggie since i rarely reboot but thought i'd ask.
 
What type of network connection?

Also is the network connection available (i.e. you have an address and can use it) or do you just mean that the tray icon and network applet dont show connectivity yet? I've noticed that the tray icon/applet take a little extra time to realize the connection is available, but it is still usuable.
