Vista Ultimate Upgrade failing give a "error: 0x0"

I bought an upgrade for Vista Ultimate and every time I try and do an upgrade (which must be done in Windows) it will go like it's processing the upgraded start and then it'll fail and give me that message "error: 0x0" and tell me to restart setup again.

I've done a clean install of XP and then tried again and the same thing.

I had a SATA DVD drive so I swapped it out with a IDE DVD drive and had the same result.

Any ideas.

There should be more to the error than simply "Error: 0x0". Think it might have anything to do with KB929777? What are your system specs?

Alternatively, if you don't mind configuring a clean install (which is much better, IMHO) have you taken a look at How to Clean Install Windows Vista with Upgrade Media?

I tried that clean install upgrade method and got the same error and it really does say "error: 0x0"

I have a Shuttle SN95G5, 1GB RAM, WD SATA Raptor 74GB, Nvidia 6800GT, AMD 3000 s939.
