Vista Sleep Issues

Does it actually finish getting into sleep mode? Usually the power light will blink instead of being steady (or something like that, depending on your machine) and the fans will shut off (again, depends on your settings and machine).

If it *is* getting into sleep and it's crashing on resume, try looking at the Event Viewer to see what might be causing it. Just type Event Viewer into the search box of the Start menu.

One other thing to play with is the Power settings for the Ethernet and USB devices in the Device Manager. I found that I had to set all of the Ethernet and USB devices to "Allow the computer to put this device into Standby" (or whatever it says), but YMMV.

Good luck!

Just don't let it go to sleep. Right click on your desk top, very bottom, personalize, screen saver, under power management, change the power settings. Change when the computer goes to sleep, select never. Mine was doing the same thing. I just don't let it go to sleep anymore, problem solved, for me anyway.

Vista is still a piece of shit for somethings. Not thrilled with it. Did you turn off user account control too, get rid of those blasted pop-ups every time you want to do something, highly recommend doing that.

Sleep mode has almost never been a problem for me in Vista-32 or now Vista-64. The only problem I do remember having was a logitech mouse driver, I updated that and all has been fine for months now.
I love sleep mode and would consider it a major let down if it weren't working properly.
Checking the mouse driver is the only advice I can give since I've never had another problem to speak of, good luck.
