I have an issue with Vista (64). Whenever I go to a folder (new or existing), it seems to default to a movies or picture setting. I am old school. I like seeing the details of files. I change the settings and next time, back to pictures and stuff. I am not a picture / movie freak and am getting really cheezed off that the setting don't stay. There is the option (like there has been since Win 95?) to save the settings of each folder. This is set.
