You're going to have to show me where a member said it runs "BEST" with 1GB, in the thread I read it's said many times that it runs OK with 1GB, but 2GB would be better.

Yeah, it's just between these. With 4GB and more you start to get into the 32-bit vs 64-bit conversation.

1gb for non-gaming, 2gb for gaming. Anything else is icing on the cake, but unnecessary at this point. Anyone who tells you otherwise simply doesnt know wtf theyre talking about.

You should try Crysis in Windows Vista with 2 GB of ram vs 4 GB of ram with all settings on high. Resolution at 1600x1200 or above.

As much as possible. For Vista I'd take more slower RAM over less faster RAM.

Vista runs fine with 1GB for browsing/email/other undemanding applications. My D420 with Vista and 1GB rarely uses more than 700MB. Get over it.
