I'm sure there's probably no point in asking given that this has only been out for a few hours and given Creative's past track record - but has anyone gotten an Audigy1/2/4/X-Fi working in RC2 yet? Neither the latest XP64 drivers nor the latest Vista beta drivers on their site seem to work for me at all (and yes, I'm disabling the signed driver check at every boot).
What am I thinking....obviously it's too much to ask for the world's largest producer of sound cards to provide some sort of working drivers for an operating system due to be RTM within a month...![]()

if i had my Audigy 2 working i *possibly* MIGHT have Vista running as my primary OS already...who knows.
I am tempted to get RC2, but then i see it might take a few more months to get more stable drivers and tools, eg. diskeeper etc. and espeically overclocking tools for my radeon, I very much need Ati Tray Tools
Otherwise no problems w/ vista.

I only have one real complaint right now - the built-in defragmenter sucks
It doesn't show any details about what it's doing (or even which drive it's working on), you just click a button to start and it says "this may take from a few minutes to a few hours...". Real helpful...
Not that much of an issue really, but I'll be happy with there's a new version of Diskeeper for Vista![]()

Perfect disk is better anyway and they have a beta out for RC1 and up. Runs for 150 days. That is what I'm testing now. The first defrag is slow as hell, but faster than the built in... The scheduler works and the later defrags are much much faster...

Thanks for the heads-up....I'll definitely look into it![]()
Edit: Looks like the beta is x86 only![]()
I'm using Avast 4.7 home free edition on RC2 x64, and it seems to work fine.Originally posted by: DLeRium
Anyone using Anti-Virus?
While I'm not sure what "fre" means, it certainly doesn't mean "French." The ISO that I downloaded from the links above is an English version.Originally posted by: ForumMaster
umm, could the fre ossibly mean it's in french? or is vista ony available in english for now? getting a solid 200k.

I was in the middle of downloading RC2 64bit. I paused because I had to do a reboot. When I click on the download manager it now takes me to the Vista home page. Can't get back to the download page. Maybe they've reached their limit of general public downloads. Anybody else having a similar problem?
