Vista Q???

Here's my problem. I currently run Windows XP under an Athalon XP 2600 2.13 processor with 2 GB ram. In the very near future I plan on upgrading my computer 1 peice at a time until I have built an almost entirely new computer. Starting with the Mobo and CPU and then on to Graphics card and so on...
What I would like to do is to get Windows Vista NOW. So my question is this. Can I buy Windows Vista and start using it on my computer now. And then when I get the computer totally built still use that same copy of Vista on it. It will in 1 way be the same computer and in another be an almost entirely new computer.
Also Considering that it will be a New computer what do I do about my recovery disks? I dont want to keep using the same old recovery disks that I have had for 3 years. What does one do when they build a new computer from scratch? Where do you get your new software?

This will depend on whether you get Ultimate or not (I think that was the one where the license was changed for enthusiasts) and how forgiving the activation server/hotline is. It must also not be an OEM copy of the OS.

Also, small pet peeve: no second 'a' in Athlon =)

Yes, you'll need a retail version of Vista not OEM (since you want to upgrde your MOBO). Other than that, you should have no problem.

Oh thats good to know. But yeah. Im pretty sure that Ill be using an off the shelf version of Vista. Where else can I get it other than that if I plan on upgrading my whole system? And to the other question.
What does one do about the recovery disks for a newly built system? Can you just buy one made to your specifications? huh?

Your Vista install disk will be your "recovery disk."
