I run Vista Ultimate on both of my desktops (my laptop came with MCE 2005). My new laptop is coming with Vista Ultimate. My main desktop (C2Q 6600, Gigabyte P35-based motherboard, 4GB OCZ DDR2 800, GeForce 8800GTX) runs x64, my HTPC/Server (C2D 6600, Gigabyte 965-based motherboard, 2GB OCZ DDR2 800, GeForce 7600GS) runs x86. I haven't really had any problems with it other than the fact that it takes forever to boot on my main machine (I don't remember if it takes awhile on the other machine...). Supposedly based on Vista's performance tools, it's the Profile Manager that's taking awhile to boot (note that it's nice that Vista has such tools built in!) I don't reboot often so I haven't really looked into this much.

u must be thinking of the Office service pack. SP1 for Vista isn't out yet.
It's out in beta form.

I didn't hop onto XP until SP1 came out, and I plan to do the same with Vista, unless they do an update to XP.
SP3 will be coming out for XP.

Holy cow, network file transfers suck balls. Won't be "upgrading" my office to Vista anytime soon, that's for sure.
What's weird is... I don't get slow speeds all the time. Sometimes I get 30-40mb/s but sometimes

- I have to reboot Vista 2-3 times a day because it won't completely end the process when browsing the 'net or exiting a game sometimes, which prevents me from loading it up again. Why not go to task manager and end the process from there you may ask? Because in Vista, 95% of the time selecting "end process" on a frozen program does not work, and the system even tells me that I'll likely need to reboot! This frustrates me to no end.
Never had this problem happen on any of my Vista machines. Although I'm having some issues with FFDShow all of a sudden, but I think I'm running into a bug in that software that causes a video to freeze when minimized (sometimes). Not sure what exactly is causing it yet.
Also, I have no problem killing processes in Vista. It sounds like you've got something else wrong.
