hi i am building a pc from scratch and i am looking at the vista home premium oem version.either 64bit or 32 don't know yet anyone better than the other?and does anybody have any installation tips or do's and dont's to pass on this is all new to me .thanks alot.

i noticed running vista 64 ultimate my PC ran faster and for some reason my boot times are much less. thats about it. and u can use more ram in 64 bit.
 
OEM versions of Ms OSs are only licensed for the original PC. When you upgrade you have to buy Vista again.
Retail versions can be installed on other PCs (only one at a time though).

But MS is pretty good at letting you slide though, if you just tell them something like "My motherboard blew up.".
 
the added cost for 'retail' [ over oem ] moves retail out of my reach, so i use oem's and havnt had a problem, i dont build a 'new' pc every 6 months or even yearly, my last build for myself was when the 875 chipset came out, i may build another sometime way after the X58 chipset release, so for me oem works.
