Vista Nvidia - Ati driver problem

So I installed vista on my desktop. Now, I put my 7900gt in there and have been running it. Well, it appears that my pc has been randomly restarting, and I think that it is probably the problem. Well, thats where I am starting. So, I yanked my card and tried to boot and use my onboard graphics on the mb. Well, its ATI. So, I am bluescreening. It doesnt do it in safe mode probably because it doesnt load the video drivers. So, how do I deal with this issue short of sticking the old card back in and uninstalling the video driver then rebooting, and letting it find the ati card?

In safe mode you unistall the drivers and run drive cleaner to completly remove the old drivers. Then restart the system and install the video drivers.

the add remove option is not there in safe mode in vista. either that or I dont know where to find it. its not in control panel....

yes, i did. the ability to uninstall the device is there, but i didnt see the ability to uninstall the driver...

well, i uninstalled every device. rebooted, and it still blue screens. never boots into vista just the scrolling bar that starts up vista, and then blue screen. now, in safe mode, it doesnt do it. at all. so its telling me that its software, but i dont know what to do to remedy it. i cant even boot off of the vista cd and it work. it still blue screens. so, today, i am blowing the image away, and redoing it. just have to use my ubcd to get the data off. will let you guys know...

Well, it ended up not being the video. It ended up being that I enabled cool n quiet and this build does not support it. Whew, i had alot of data on that drive. Time to start up the backup routine.
